Doreen Gehrke es una artista visual alemana cuya práctica se centra en la pintura mixta y en la construcción de superficies con una fuerte dimensión escultórica. Su trabajo explora la relación entre materia, paisaje y percepción, a través de composiciones que combinan pasta de modelado, pigmentos, tinta, acrílico y materiales orgánicos como madera, arena o piedra.

Muchas de sus obras toman la forma de relieves, situándose en el umbral entre pintura y objeto. Las series Baltic Sea, Vineta y Sails reflejan un interés constante por los entornos naturales, especialmente marinos, reinterpretados desde una abstracción sobria y táctil.
