"Mi trabajo no busca ofrecer respuestas directas ni apoyarse en una narrativa evidente. Trabajo desde lo simbólico, construyendo cada elemento como parte de una arquitectura de significados que se sostiene en el cuidado, pero también en la incomodidad que invita a mirar de otro modo. Me interesa generar una experiencia visual y ética que confronte y, al mismo tiempo, abra un espacio para la transformación.

Mi obra nace de la herida y de aquello que permanece oculto; se presenta como un gesto de memoria y posibilidad. Invito al espectador a detenerse en lo que duele, en lo que florece y en lo que insiste en permanecer."

I approach each piece through a symbolic language, building an architecture of meaning grounded in care but also in the discomfort that invites a different way of looking. I aim to create a visual and ethical experience that confronts and, at the same time, opens a space for transformation.

Gloria Segura Jordá (Alcoi, 1979) es artista visual. Vive y trabaja en Alcoi. Se formó desde la infancia en la Escuela Municipal de Bellas Artes de Alcoy (1988–1998) y continuó sus estudios en la Escuela de Arte y Superior de Diseño de Alcoy, donde obtuvo el título de Técnica Superior en Ilustración y Artes Aplicadas (2000). Es Licenciada en Bellas Artes (2005), Máster en Estudios Culturales y Artes Visuales con perspectivas feministas y cuir/queer por la Universidad Miguel Hernández (2022) y doctoranda en la Universidad de Alicante.

Su trabajo se desarrolla en pintura, ilustración y prácticas performativas. Investiga el cuerpo como archivo y la memoria como espacio político, con especial atención a los discursos feministas y queer. Utiliza motivos como la figura fragmentada o la flor herida para abordar procesos de vulnerabilidad, resistencia y representación.

Entre sus proyectos recientes destacan Déchiré (IVAM CADA Alcoi, 2024) y su participación en la muestra Amagades (Cátedra Antoni Miró – Universidad de Alicante, 2023). Ha intervenido en el Ciclo de Performance y Género del MACA de Alicante, vinculado a la exposición de Esther Ferrer. En diseño institucional es autora del cartel oficial de la XXXIII Mostra de Teatre d’Alcoi (2024).

Su producción combina investigación visual, práctica artística y reflexión crítica sobre el cuerpo y el género.

Gloria Segura Jordá (Alcoi, 1979) is a visual artist based in Alcoi. She began her artistic training at the Municipal School of Fine Arts of Alcoy (1988–1998) and later completed a Higher Technical Degree in Illustration and Applied Arts at the School of Art and Design of Alcoy (2000). She holds a BA in Fine Arts (2005), an MA in Cultural Studies and Visual Arts with feminist and queer perspectives from the Miguel Hernández University (2022), and is currently a PhD candidate at the Alicante University.

Her practice encompasses painting, illustration, and performative work. She explores the body as an archive and memory as a political space, focusing on feminist and queer approaches. Recurrent elements—such as the fragmented figure or the wounded flower—allow her to address questions of vulnerability, resistance, and representation.

Recent projects include Déchiré (IVAM CADA Alcoi, 2024) and her participation in Amagades (Antoni Miró Chair of Contemporary Art – University of Alicante, 2023). She has also taken part in the Performance and Gender Cycle at the MACA Museum in Alicante, linked to an exhibition by Esther Ferrer. In institutional design, she created the official poster for the XXXIII Mostra de Teatre d’Alcoi (2024).

Her work brings together visual research, artistic practice, and critical reflection on the body and gender.
