"I approach painting as a layered process, burying, revealing, and reshaping what’s underneath. I’m drawn to disorder and imperfection, using dense brushstrokes and bold materials to explore emotion, memory, and the raw, spiritual side of experience. My work moves between abstraction and figuration, always aiming to connect with something honest and essential."

EN

Marc Gonz (Barcelona, 1973) is a painter whose work blends expressionism and abstraction through the impasto technique, creating highly textured, three-dimensional surfaces. His pieces, built up with layers of paint applied by brush, palette knife, and even hands, evoke a sculptural dynamism.

His recent work focuses on portraits where faces emerge from bursts of color, with eyes that remain uncovered, gazing at the viewer from beneath the paint. Influenced by the melancholy of the clown and the cinematic aesthetics of David Lynch, his art explores the dialogue between the visible and the mysterious, inviting us to uncover the essence hidden beneath the surface.
