Located just steps away from the Sagrada Família, Uxval Gochez embodies the rebellious and resilient spirit of Barcelona’s artistic scene. From Barcelona to the world, the gallery represents artists of diverse nationalities and backgrounds, championing an open, plural, and global approach without abandoning the cultural identity of the city where it was born.

The gallery’s greatest strength lies in distilling the character of Barcelona’s traditional “fighting galleries” —spaces that have historically propelled careers and upheld bold artistic discourses— and projecting that spirit onto the international art circuit. Within this philosophy, Uxval Gochez also maintains a strong relationship with Madrid, fostering an ongoing dialogue that enriches both the Catalan and Spanish art scenes.

Its curatorial focus centers on young and emerging artists, particularly those of exceptional talent whose work has not yet received the visibility it deserves. The gallery is committed to opening doors and positioning these artists within key international markets. To achieve this, it combines an intensive promotional strategy on marketplace platforms specializing in North America and Northern Europe with a strong physical presence: a large and well-equipped exhibition space in Barcelona, alongside consistent participation in numerous art fairs throughout the year.

The mission of Uxval Gochez is clear: to discover, support, and elevate artists with essential voices—offering them the recognition and projection they deserve, and placing their work firmly on the global map of contemporary art.

Through out the history of the project, our collaborations include : Evru, Gino Rubert, Yamandú Canosa, Patricia Bentancur, Antonio Ortega, Guillermo Pfaff, Stella Rahola, Paul Pretzer, among others. 

Originally founded as "Aurora" by Uxval Gochez, it changed its name with the turn of the decade.
